Quitman County School District Writes Over 129,365 Lines of Code during Hour of Code

Quitman County Elementary/ Middle School students, High School students, faculty, and staff participated in the largest learning event in history, The Hour of Code! The hour of code is a worldwide initiative to introduce computer programming to students and show them that anybody can learn the basics. Students used iPads and the Computer Lab to complete drag and drop programming through a game-like self-directed tutorial. Engaging in programming promotes problem-solving skills and prepares students for any future career. Hour of Code is sponsored by code.org and was held the week of Dec. 8-14.

Administrators, faculty, and staff have also participated and have written 3566 lines of code. Students and faculty are so excited about coding that they are empowered to keep learning! Go to the Elementary School site to see more images.
